Library Hosts September Digital Literacy Classes
SOUTH-WEST HARBOR – The Southwest Harbor Public Library is partnering with the National Digital Equity Center (NDEC) to offer on-site digital literacy classes in September.
On September 1 and 2 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., two Email Basics sessions will take place where participants can llearn the basics of using email in an interactive classroom, examining browsing, composing, replying, working with attachments, and more, with hands-on classroom participation. This class is limited to six.
A three-session iPhone basics course runs September 12-14 from 10-11 a.m. covers the basics of using the Apple iPhone, starting with the basics of logging in using multiple methods, from passcode to Touch ID to facial recognition technology. Apple’s iCloud service and the App Store will be discussed. This class is also limited to six.
Classes will be held in the Clark Room where attendees will see the NDEC instructor on Zoom with a local facilitator available in person to assist the instructor and students. Students can bring their own device or reserve a laptop at the library and will be required to complete a one-time NDEC registration form upon registration.
