MELIÁ DESERT PALM BRINGS ARGENTINE TRADITIONS TO LIFE WITH NEW SATURDAY BBQ BRUNCH
With outdoor weather now upon us, Meliá Desert Palm Member of Meliá Collection has unveiled a new Saturday brunch at RARE, the resort’s wood-fired grill restaurant. Drawing inspiration from Argentina’s traditions of grilling, al fresco dining and their passion for the sport of polo, the RARE BBQ Brunch takes place on the restaurant’s expansive terrace overlooking the main polo field from 2-5 p.m.
With a wide choice of delicious salads, grilled meats, fish and vegetables, all cooked on the famous Asado grill, and a delicious selection of desserts to complement the meal.
Upon arrival, guests will be greeted with a mimosa to start this posh afternoon before being shown to their table, where a selection of homemade bread, signature beef and chicken empanadas and Argentinian fondue, with hot, melted cheese to drizzle over the bread.
The real barbecue experience is on the terrace, where an Asador grill hangs with whole chickens, hand-made turkey sausages, peppers, whole onions and the piece de resistance, pineapples. The scent of the grill, fueled by fresh wood, floats on the terrace encouraging diners to fill their plates.
Customers will be delighted to sample the vast selection of seasonal salads; ranging from the sweet and buttery combination of pear with avocado to the sweet/salty combination of fresh fig with green beans. Refreshing watermelon and creamy feta, caprese with bocconcini and the sweetest of cherry tomatoes covered in pesto or a crunchy Caesar salad, plus a host of other choices.
As for main courses, the emphasis is on quality over quantity, with choice cuts of meat and fish expertly grilled on the Asado, and served with chimichurri or sauce, or both depending on customer preference. Grilled vegetables are also available; however, customers may want to eat more salads.
Items from the Asador outdoor grill will be delivered to the table, so guests can relax, as Chef Franco will decide when they’re ready.
The RARE BBQ Brunch wouldn’t be complete without a range of delicious desserts, one of the highlights being the grilled pineapple fresh out of the Asado, with its sweet and smoky flavor, it’s a unique experience. Potted desserts ranging from tiramisu, chocolate mousse, crème caramel or pannacotta to delicious bite-size cakes, whole pecan pies or fresh fruit platters.
After the dining experience is over, guests can continue their afternoon listening to the beats of DJ Tim, while enjoying live polo playing on the field. Happy hour starts at the Red Bar from 5:00 p.m. and resident musician Dan Moores takes over with live entertainment as the drinks flow until 8:00 p.m. as the sun sets during the day and the stars come out .
The RARE BBQ Brunch is available with bubbles for AED 430, house drinks for AED 380, soft drink package for AED 280 and small ones for AED 125.
