Mobile vaccination sites protect thousands in Yakima

The COVID-19 pandemic has kept Yakima Health District officials busy trying to vaccinate Yakima residents. The district has set up mobile vaccination clinics to help get more people vaccinated, but they end on March 31. The mobile vaccination clinics took place in various locations, such as workplaces, grocery stores and schools.
Mobile vaccination sites will close at the end of the month
Health district officials say COVID-19 vaccination clinics started when FEMA’s community vaccination center started nearly a year ago and they say that set the priority for clinics vaccination clinics across the state and country. Since the center opened, the Yakima Health District has administered nearly 65,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine “through the fixed CVC site and mobile teams.” The authorities have decided to close the mobile vaccination sites because the vaccine is now available throughout the community. They say if you need to get vaccinated against COVID-19, some mobile vaccination clinics are held until the end of the week.
After March 31, check the vaccine website for where to get vaccinated
After March 31, anyone can go to various places in the community to get vaccinated. For an updated list of locations, see the website www.YakimaVaccines.org.
