The Sims 4 DLC kits announced to be on the way
A new set of The Sims 4 DLC kits have been announced. Try to keep your biggest surprise. When it comes to milking a game for all its worth, EA has turned the practice into an art. The best example of this is, of course, The Sims 4. To date, 58 The Sims 4 DLC packs have been released, according to Steam. But the rat race of commercialization is far from coming to an end any time soon.
How to tell The Sims 4 kits, packs, and expansions apart
The Sims 4 Downloadable content is organized into four distinct categories:
- Expansions: Major pieces of content that introduce new game mechanics, new settings, and other major additions.
- Game Packs: Medium-sized content packs similar to expansions, but on a smaller scale in comparison.
- Item Packs: Minor additions that usually add a specific new gameplay mechanic, as well as a small number of new assets.
- Kits: Usually cosmetic-only additions, adding new clothing or customization options, often additional gear for larger packs.
What is the next step ?
The new kits, labeled First Adjustments Kit and the Deluxe Desert Kit, will introduce new clothing options for your Sims. Although full product descriptions have not yet been posted, the official website The Sims Twitter account provided the following:
“Enhance your Sims kids’ closets with fashionable patterns and colorful cutouts, or relax in sophisticated desert-style furniture in the First Ki adjustmentt and the Deluxe Desert Kit.”
While some players take issue with the sometimes lackluster amount of content added to these packs and kits, the overall quality of the added items is rarely challenged. Hopefully, that trend will hold true in these two upcoming kits.
The First Adjustments Kit will be released on September 1, along with the other The Sims 4 DLCs, Deluxe Desert Kit, to follow two weeks later on September 14. There’s only a short time left before players are free to update those closets and lounges.
